Welcome to my unformatted HTML homepage (for those who understand, the game is paused) OK, lightly formatted, but not by much. I wanted to post a start point that I could lazily add to over time to point people at my stuff on the web.

What do I do?

For some reason, we define ourselves by our jobs. "What do you do?" seems a common question, but for me, my work and my pasttimes are tightly connected. Luckily, I get to do what I like and get paid for it. How cool is that? If you want to see my job, hit my LinkedIn profile... but I try to keep some of that stuff at work. It does "drive" me though.

When it's time to play, unfortunately I like new things, which means I'm not very good at most of them... I like some Asian culture (Chinese and Japanese seem the most iconic). I wanted to go to Japan and learn a bit, but went to Korean and China instead. Tokyo (finally) was easier than Beijing and Seoul, but I wasn't there very long. There's some music in me, but I'm not sure what... I like to climb, hike, snowboard, whitewater rafting, crazy high-altitude things that make my heart beat fast... to swingdance, to playing with the fishies (scuba). There's so much to see.

I used to workout. A lot. A lot more karate, weights, running. Things slowed down, I got a bit lazy I think. Maybe I'll "work towards my past" in that regard. I'm still kinda slim, but not so solid as I was in the Army.

You notice though that none of these things involves a ball of any kind. I'm not good at sports, I don't watch sports, I kinda don't get the sports-craziness. I'd rather do things than watch things, but put a ball in my hand, it's comedy-hour.
